Issue 145

RISE & SHINE BAKERY BULLETIN, Issue 145
January 2019

Happy New Year sourdough fans!

Alison, I, and the billions and billions of active creatures in our sourdough starter wish you all the best for 2019 and hope you are now ready for some good nourishing whole grain bread after the excesses of the holidays!

You can start ordering NOW, to pick up your bread on Wednesday, January 16th!  And please note that our next delivery date after this isn’t until March 6th so stock up if you need to.

Because of the three-day fermentation of the sourdough, the bread is a great keeper. It freezes and thaws beautifully, and stays fresh on your counter for at least a week. If you’ll be out of town or have a conflict on a pickup day, just give me a call and we can try and arrange a different plan for your bread pickup. (907) 312 0592.

Here’s what we’re baking for pickup on Wednesday, January 16th: (please order by Sunday, January 13th):

Savory hearth loaves will be the ROSEMARY and the TOASTED SEED.  Either one pairs well with food for a sandwich or hors d’ouvre tray.

The sweet loaf will be the RAISIN AND TOASTED PECAN sourdough. I love a slice for breakfast, or for an afternoon snack.

100% whole grain pan loaves will be LEVAIN (100% whole wheat sourdough) and the ever-popular SPENT GRAIN sourdough.

ANNOYING PASSWORDS: Have you had to reset your password through the website and now it’s stuck on something awful like Kq8B2j? I’m so sorry that my website doesn’t allow you to customize your own password, but I can change it for you. Please just email me (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) or call me (907.312.0592) and let me know, and I can change it to something easy to remember, or to a password of your choice.

THE BREAD ORDERING DEADLINE
You’ll need to order your bread by MIDNIGHT on Sunday January 13th, so we have time to plan our bake, feed our sourdough, and pre-ferment the dough!
