Issue #113

Hello, sourdough fans!

We are baking one last time in 2015: for NEXT WEDNESDAY, December 23rd! You can start ordering now to pick up your bread, just in time to fill your holiday table—whether the meal is breakfast (fruited almond toast), lunch (sandwiches on potato or spent grain), dinner (slices of rosemary bread) or dessert (dark chocolate & cherry).

In the new year, our next bake will be for January 13th, so stock up on what you need and pop some bread in the freezer if you need to. Check out the long-term baking schedule for details.

Here’s what we’re baking for Wednesday, December 23rd. (Please order by Sunday, December 20th.)

Savory hearth loaves will be the FRESH ROSEMARY sourdough. The rosemary bread is a little lighter than our other breads, since it is only 60% whole grain (the other 40% is organic bread flour). We will bake two kinds of sweet hearth loaf this time: the FRUITED ALMOND sourdough, and the DARK CHOCOLATE & CHERRY sourdough. The fruited almond bread is packed with toasted almonds, apricots, cranberries and golden raisins. The chocolate & cherry bread is rich with cocoa powder, and studded with dark Dutch chocolate chunks and dried cherries. Both loaves are egg- and dairy-free, and make great Christmas gifts.

The pan loaves will be our ALASKAN POTATO sourdough and the ever-popular SPENT GRAIN sourdough.
