Issue 142

November 2018

Hello, sourdough fans!

We have some great news fo you!  The dried sweetened cherries that we love to put in our CHOCOLATE CHERRY sourdough are back in stock after months and months and so we are excited be able to bake it again! But of course, with the way the world works, the chocolate chunks we used have been discontinued and replaced by a more chippy less chunky shape.  It’s the same delicious chocolate though and who knows. .  . it may be even better this way!

You can start ordering NOW, to pick up your bread on Wednesday, November 21st!  When you order, you will get an email confirmation from us.  If you don’t get one right away please look in your Spam/Junk mailbox.  If you still don’t get one please check in with us!  Thank you!

Because of the three-day fermentation of the sourdough, the bread is a great keeper. It freezes and thaws beautifully, and stays fresh on your counter for at least a week. If you’ll be out of town or have a conflict on a pickup day, just give me a call and we can try and arrange a different plan for your bread pickup. (907) 312 0592.

Here’s what we’re baking for pickup on Wednesday, November 21st: (please order by Sunday, November 18th):

Savory hearth loaves will be the ROSEMARY and the TOASTED SEED.  Adding fresh rosemary to our hearth loaf gives it a savory herbal flavor that goes so well with lots of different foods.  And the toasted seed is just as versatile as our regular signature 100% whole wheat—you can use it for toast, sandwiches, or dinner bread.

The sweet loaf will be the CHOCOLATE CHERRY sourdough. I love a slice for breakfast, or for an afternoon snack.

100% whole grain pan loaves will be LEVAIN (100% whole wheat sourdough) and the ever-popular SPENT GRAIN sourdough.
